A cultural strategist, curator, visual artist, and founder whose work explores the intersection of footwear heritage, material culture, and institutional innovation. Through research, curation, and education, he develops frameworks that position footwear as a lens for understanding history, identity, technology, and design.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, into a family of four generations of artists, Valenzuela has built an interdisciplinary career that bridges art, fashion, education, and cultural research. His work is driven by a commitment to transforming collections, exhibitions, and educational initiatives into platforms that generate cultural knowledge and public engagement.

In 2007, he founded Earth Day Miami, followed by EcoArtFashion™, one of the earliest initiatives dedicated to integrating sustainability with art and fashion. In 2016, he established The Creators Lab in Wynwood, Miami, an experimental platform exploring the convergence of art, design, and emerging technologies.

In 2023, he founded the MIAMI Shoe Museum (MSM), an umbrella institution dedicated to the study, preservation, and cultural interpretation of footwear. Today, MSM operates through two complementary platforms: the MSM Research Center, dedicated to research, digital archiving, and educational programming, and THE SHOE VAULT, the custodial platform for his private footwear collection of more than 1,500 shoes and related objects. Together, they support a growing ecosystem that advances footwear heritage through scholarship, exhibitions, and public engagement.

Expanding this vision into emerging technologies, Valenzuela created MIAMI Vibes, an international initiative exploring the future of footwear through artificial intelligence, sustainability, and design innovation.

Today, Luis Valenzuela continues to develop and apply footwear heritage as a framework for research, curation, and institutional innovation, collaborating with museums, universities, designers, brands, and cultural organizations to advance the understanding of footwear as an essential expression of human creativity and cultural heritage.
